With GAF's Systems Plus Warranty, you receive a lifetime warranty on Architectural shingles. The manufacturer themselves rates these shingles at 20 years and if something happens to the shingles as a result of their quality you won’t have to pay to have them replaced by a general contractor. While this rarely happens, homeowners in the Hampton Roads area will have the peace of mind offered by this outstanding warranty provided by one of the premier roofing manufacturers in in the United States. This warranty covers damage to the roof that occurs as a result of wind. It covers damage occurring from wind speeds of up to 130 miles per hour. However, 3-tab shingles don’t fall under this feature of the program. This gives you peace of mind when there is a hurricane in the forecast and you don’t have this kind of insurance included in your regular home insurance policy. However, you will have to ask for specific installation techniques to be used for this type of coverage.

You can transfer the warranty on the roof to another owner if you sell the house and it doesn’t cost anything to put this transfer in place. The lifetime warranty only applies to the first and second owner of the home. If the buyer decides to sell again, then the warranty won’t apply to the third owner.
